Two-way Mirror

Inspired by the Chinese belief that our ancestors live on in a parallel world and can influence our fortunes, I invited gallery visitors to fold joss paper I designed in style of Chinese ancestor worship ceremonies.

In the second phase of the project, I captured myself burning the joss paper offerings on film as a symbolic method of transmitting messages to the other side. This footage reversed was presented in the form of a floor-projected video installation.
