Home Run, 2022

Currently on display at Belongings Exhibition at Tech Artista, St Louis

This project looks at the history of downtown St Louis through the lens of the history of Chinese immigration in America to examine how the community has shaped the city we know today. Home Run investigates the documentation of the place, community, and home of the first few Chinese immigrants that arrived in St Louis in the mid-19th century and its subsequent demolition for Busch Stadium in the 1960s. While scouring archives for photos I reflected on the lack of documentation and preservation of a community that persisted for a hundred years in contrast to the countless baseball paraphernalia present in the area today.
